Grand Canyon USA Holidays with The Travel Department

The Grand Canyon, in the State of Arizona, is one of the seven wonders of the natural world. It is a steep-sided gorge carved by the Colorado River as well as freeze and thaw action and erosion by rainfall. This canyon is 1500 meters deep and is 29 km across at its widest point. It has three sections that have their own particular climate and vegetation. The South Rim is one of these sections and only experiences 406 mm of rain a year. There are also several historical buildings located along the South Rim, including the Grand Canyon Village.
