Berlin is the capital city of Germany and is located in the north east of the country. It is a vibrant and multicultural city, a haven for artists and international residents. From most parts of Berlin you can see the second highest building in the European Union, the Fernsehturm. You can also see the Brandenburg gate, a former city gate, which is a main symbol of Germany and appears on some German euro coins.
