Champagne is a historic province located in the northeast of France, quite close to Paris, and is best known for the production of the sparkling white wine that bears the region’s name. The landscape is of rolling hills and lush vineyards. The biggest city in the region is Reims where 25 French kings were crowned. The Gothic Notre-Dame Cathedral in the city is one of France’s most magnificent churches and is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
